Authentic Happiness

..or so they say. Authentic Happiness Survey

I took an online test that profiled me as:

Top Strength– This is a Signature Strength for you. Date: January 21, 2005
Appreciation of beauty and excellence You notice and appreciate beauty, excellence, and/or skilled performance in all domains of life, from nature to art to mathematics to science to everyday experience.

Second Strength

Spirituality, sense of purpose, and faith You have strong and coherent beliefs about the higher purpose and meaning of the universe. You know where you fit in the larger scheme. Your beliefs shape your actions and are a source of comfort to you.

Third Strength

Bravery and valor You are a courageous person who does not shrink from threat, challenge, difficulty, or pain. You speak up for what is right even if there is opposition. You act on your convictions.

On this strength, you scored as high as or higher than . . .

90% of all Web site users
90% of all female respondents
90% of all 45 to 54 years old
93% of occupation group HM
[I included the percentages on this because it surprised me] -all you wimps out there in my demographic groups! ( I probably rate high because I say stuff like that;)

Fourth Strength

Judgment, critical thinking, and open-mindedness Thinking things through and examining them from all sides are important aspects of who you are. You do not jump to conclusions, and you rely only on solid evidence to make your decisions. You are able to change your mind.

Fifth Strength

Love of learning You love learning new things, whether in a class or on your own. You have always loved school, reading, and museums-anywhere and everywhere there is an opportunity to learn.

[I scored about average for my age group, which is lower than for groups such as web users…so people my age who are on the web tend to love learning, n’est ce pas?]
=====================================
There are other possible strengths such as “Social intelligence” which I did not have as one of mine ( duh… this fits with intp profile, but is no real excuse, is it?)

  1. Hi, there, I found your blog through my stat counter…thanks for linking to me! Your blog is great reading and I have linked to you, as well. I especially like the entry about lies from a few days ago!

  2. Thank you Samantha! I very much enjoy reading your blog- you are much the woman I would like to be:) I am rather remiss in my endeavors.

  3. It would be interesting to see how you would do on an Authentic Joy Survey, as opposed to the AHS.

    Hypothetically speaking, of course.

  4. Rather low at this point. Although I was thinking about that recently ( by coincidence). I have found when I hit absolute nadir, when I turn to the Lord , inexplicable joy comes. The kind where there is no discernable reason, but you have tapped into the Lord Himself.

“In Thy Presence is fullness of joy”
