Thankful Thursday

If you haven’t all the things you want, be grateful for the things you don’t have that you wouldn’t want

I don’t know where that quote came form- but it is a good one.

We are having soft and gentle rain after a prolonged period of drought – like weather. I am so thankful for that, I love the damp coolness it brings, but I am so thankful not to have the overabundance that those in England are suffering from. My sympathies are with them.

I am thankful for the lull the end of this month has brought, the peace that is again developing in my consciousness, the resignation of my soul over people who will not be loved no matter how one tries. I am thankful that there are people who welcome love and friendship…even from one such as me.

I am thankful for my children and their different personalities. They are better people than I am, and I am thankful for that.

I am thankful for God’s daily goodness, which never fails to be glimpsed,a dn sometimes showers over me. He is good. What more can I say?

I am thankful for my gardens, they have always been a laboratory of discovering what is good and true.

I am thankful for whatever successes I have, however small… they are of cumulative importance and I have not paid enough attention to that. I am thankful for having eyes to see- after so long in my myopic introversion.

I am thankful for the hope that springs eternal- because it really does.Thankful for the love that lifted me, because it really does. It really truly does.

I am thankful, and I just am going to rest a bit in that state of feeling grateful and content.
