A handicapped woman was doused with petrol and set on fire by youths during another night of rioting in Paris.

The 56-year-old suffered third degree burns to 20% of her body in the attack.

Witnesses said a youth poured petrol over the woman and then threw a Molotov cocktail on to the bus she was travelling on in the suburb of Sevran.

Other passengers were able to flee but she was unable to escape because of her disabilities.

Those who excuse their spiritual bankruptcy with their poverty show that their culture is unable to give anything of value. There is many a poor man who knows how to give compassion to others who have difficulties and challenges. Some of them have even more compassion to give for all their own sufferings and lack.

But these?

Is the answer for a community’s poverty to burn and vandalize? Is it even an excuse? How are men’s souls made so empty that they allow themselves, that they rationalize this crime against the weakest and most vulnerable?
