Bet You Didn’t Know This

Business Wire – March 16, 2006 08:00 reports:

The U.S. Air Force was honored October 24, 2005 as a recipient of a 2005 Green Power Leadership Award for its organization-wide commitment to renewable energy. The annual awards, presented during the National Green Power Marketing Conference, are sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Center for Resource Solutions to recognize organizations whose actions help advance the development of the nation’s green power market.

…..We’ve (the Air Force) been very aggressive in pursuing renewable energy because it makes economic sense,” said Jim Snook, Air Force renewable energy program manager. Mr. Snook said the Air Force strategy is to lock in long-term contracts at fixed prices to ensure reasonably priced rates in the future.

“Industry has seen that the Air Force is committed to renewable energy and they are bringing ideas and projects to us and making more renewable purchasing opportunities available,” he said.

ok, and all you jokers who want to say something about $1,000 dollar toilets with $100 plungers just keep it to yourselves>:)

I’m glad that this is the direction some of the government agencies are going. I personally am tired of oil prices jerking me around.

…if only I thought I could afford a hybrid car! The technology for green power still has a ways to go.
