Innovation and Encouragement

Godblogroll: INFJ

That Marla Swoffer is always up to something, it is hard for me to keep up sometimes. I love her ideas, though I know that on Intellectuelle she had a kickstart from Bonnie, who approached her with the original idea. But Marla is the type of woman I have often admired. Takes ideas and turns them into realities. Great salesmanship, too, or maybe that is enthusiasm I am trying to describe. She is using categories as tags for blogs, in this incarnation of her blog activities.

All the great blog services probably started out this way, and certainly the most entertaining memes. Smart, smart people.

====Encouragement====

One of blogdoms services is to encourage. I have really appreciated the time and efforts of those who encourage personally, and through their posts, as well as kindly linkage ( which helps everyone see the variety that is available).

Some with a real gift for this are:

There have been more, but these are particularly gifted. they reach out and touch you through the medium. That sounds a little weird, but you know….

Most recently Matt Harmless, and Gail of Crossing the Rubicon2, each shared their encouragement and time to link or comment. {{big internet hugs all}}

=====of course that’s not all====

Via Gail came this,Bookworm Room: Not quite an abject apology…., which you really ought to read.

This “Letter of Apology” was written by Lieutenant General Pitman:
For good and ill, the Iraqi prisoner abuse mess will remain an issue. On the one hand, right thinking Americans will abhor the stupidity of the actions while on the other hand, political glee will take control and fashion this minor event into some modern day massacre.

I humbly offer my opinion here:

I am sorry that the last seven times we Americans took up arms and sacrificed the blood of our youth, it was in the defense of Muslims (Bosnia, Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Kuwait, etc.).

I am sorry that no such call for an apology upon the extremists came after 9/11.

I am sorry that all of the murderers on 9/11 were Islamic Arabs.

I am sorry that most Arabs and Muslims have to live in squalor under savage dictatorships.

I am sorry that their leaders squander their wealth.

I am sorry that their governments breed hate for the US in their religious schools, mosques, and government-controlled media.

  1. You are a great encourager to me, Ilona!

    I need to escape from cyberspace for a time. Please rest assured that I haven’t forgotten about our interviews.

    God’s perfect Peace and blessings to you and yours!

  2. Wow, you made my night! If it weren’t for encouraging readers/bloggers like you, I wouldn’t be motivated to do this kind of stuff. My husband is also a huge encourager and very enthusiastic/optimistic in an extraverted way, whereas mine only comes through the written word most of the time, but I’m working on expressing encouragement verbally more often. Thanks so much, Ilona 🙂
