Haven’t done this for awhile, but since I always appreciate Uncle Sam’s Cabin… have been planning on resuming the virtuous habit of counting my blessings. This one comes early in the morning because although I barely unpacked, must pack again and leave before noon.
I am grateful for the sweetness my husband displays- despite that fact that I am so often irritated with him. Probably more my hormones than him.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have visited Brazil- something I never would have imagined doing in my whole life. I am thankful for the warmth of the people of that nation, and their example of kindness and enjoyment of life.
I am thankful for my home… it is always good to return home, no matter how wonderful exotic places are.
I am thankful for souvenirs and memories that cheer when times turn cloudy for me.
I am thankful for friends and family who are glad when they see and hear from me again- I feel loved.
I am thankful for having enough, and more than enough.
I am really really thankful for the Lord, His salvation and keeping power…. the peace He alone can give. The message of hope that He entrusts to us.
I am thankful for good health, for the many entitlements I enjoy, for blue skies, for summer, for the ability to work, for the safe flights and the luggage that made its way to where it was supposed to….
For fragrant flowers, for the magnificence of the ocean and the opportunity to see it, for the immensely interesting world of God’s creatures, for good food, for fresh water, for leisure to sit in the sunshine.
I am so so thankful to be alive… just be alive with opportunities for the day, for a sense of meaning and purpose.
When I get a chance I’ll record in the other blog about how important the world cup is to the Brazilians…. oh my yes, muito importante.
… and the drum bands that play after the win!!!
Good to hear from you Lorna 🙂
