Disturber of the Peace posts in more button-pushing terms than I would feel comfortable with, but has a prognostication on the Olympics. Interesting.
His point makes sense to me, also:

Hmmmm. I do agree that we view the Arabic world with paternalism and underestimation.
It is a complex world and we have yet to see what the full effects of modern communication and world hostilities have as catalysts in that world culture. encompassing so many subcultures…..
